Marcus Tullius Cicero was one of the most notable and prolific figures of ancient Rome. His philosophical works and letters are considered the most reliable source of information for the period leading up to the fall of the Roman Republic. Full bound in leather with bright marbled endpapers and sprayed page edges. Heavy scuffing and chipping to edges of boards, spines and spine ends. Internally clean and unmarked aside from faint foxing. Bindings secure, although joints starting to crack.in all volumes, but especially 'Epistolae'.

Leatherette bound with gold gilt accents on front board and spine, gilt top edge, deckled fore-edge, decorative endpapers and a silk bookmark ribbon. Comes with publisher's original pamphlet. All pages are clean and binding is sound. Minor scuffing to spine ends and joints.

Leatherette is cracked along edge of front gutter. Lower edge area of back gutter is also cracked. Gilt deco and lettering on cover and spine is clear and unfaded. Front hinge is separating, but binding is otherwise secure.
