St. Louis: Published by the Author, 1866. 297 pp In a very clean original cloth binding with a minor spot on the front cover Some minor foxing to the first few pages Has a raised booksellers stamp on the title page for the Religio Philosophical House in Chicago Coloney wrote this work of poetry to raise money for the family of his murdered friend Andreas Darling There is an account at the beginning of the book about how Coloney and Darling end up in frontier Minnesota Coloney's property was destroyed during the Lakota uprising and he moved to Missouri with his family and purchased a plantation He asked Darling to come and run the farm No sooner than starting work running the plantation Darling was murdered by Missouri Bushwhackers Several lengthy poems describe the events.
