Spine cracking a few pages loose covers worn and stained Many notes placed in the book Almost daily manuscript notes plus typed summaries of what he did each week and occasional longer typed records on cases he was working on An unusual item Bowling was born in Maryland in 1886 He was assigned to the Philadelphia Office and meets once with Hoover Some of the cases include Guns to Sinn Fein, Japanese Espionage, White Russians, a reference to a Race riot and the Navy Yard (possibly the 1919 riot) White Slavery, German, Draft dodgers, and more.

Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1945. 333 pp. A collection of poems from previous works that were out of print at the time of publication with 31 other previously unpublished poems. Stated first edition. Some staining to the jacket and binding. Inside cover page features an inscription and signature. "For Gary Woolson- Bringing clangor to quiet Bangor- Ogden Nash." Also included is an envelope and pamphlet titled "Favorite Pieces from the Writings of Ogden Nash" The pamphlet is also signed and inscribed. "For Gary W. Woolson- I agree. Shorts are for verses, not for matrons. Ogden Nash 10/15/65." Gary Woolson was a collector and dealer from the Bangor, Maine area.

Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1928. Measures 28" x 37" with light soiling on margins and and a closed tear on one-fold. A colorful map showing the houses of all of Concord's luminaries.

[np]: Yachting Heritage, 2001. Black cloth housed in a slipcase. Fine condition in slipcase. A limited-edition book on the British built Mariquita which was constructed in 1911 as racing yacht. The book tracks the history and accomplishments of this fine racing yacht. 211 pp. plus plates pp.

Nelson, NZ: H.D. Jackson, 1890. 128 pp. [Bound with] The Origin, Career and Destruction of the Kelly Gang. Also the Adventures of Captain Moonlite by F. Hunter. Adelaide, Aust.: A.T. Hodgson, c.1895. 86 pp. Booth title are lacking their wraps and were trimmed when bound. Two good accounts of frontier crime in New Zealand and Australia.

Boston: Crosby, Nichols, and Co, 1854. 124 pp. First edition. Head of the spine lacking, and the front board has remnants of a label adhered to it. The First few leaves are foxed. Haitian born slave Toussaint wnt on to be a well-known hairdresser in New York city and a leading member of the Catholic Church.

Cincinnati: L. Swormstedt & A. Poe, 1856. 354 pp. Binding rubbed, interior foxed and light damp staining. Finley was a Methodist minister who was raised on the Ohio frontier. He ministered to the Wyandot tribe and later was the minister at the Ohio state penitentiary for four years. He describes the issues and problems in the prison and offers advice on what could be done to improve conditions.

Faith and Edward Deming Andrews, 1958. Unused 1958 Christmas card published by pioneering Shaker scholars and collectors with a section of the Millennial Laws describing the rules for Believers on Christmas day. Members are counseled to make reconciliation with other members and give items to the poor.

A very good copy with minor rubbing and wear to the binding and some interior foxing. This copy has the ownership label of Sister Olive Draper (1773-1849) who was a Hancock Shaker Sister. The second printing of the first Shaker hymnal. The first edition printed in 1812 is impossible to find.

London: J. Johnson, 1796. 266, 348 pp. 2 titles in matching bindings. Very good with light wear to the bindings with minor loss to the head and tail of the spines. John Aikin was a doctor who devoted much of his life to writing and worked in conjunction with his sister Anna Laetitia Barbauld who a founder of The Blue Stocking who were a British group of women who pushed for education and mutual cooperation among women.

Providence, R.I.: Police Department, 1894. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". $50 reward form the Providence Police department for information on John Wilcox who had badly decayed teeth, rode a bicycle, was in the produce business. Good with folds and a tack hole near the top edge.

1925. Missing $1,000 Reward for Finding Alice M Corbett A Junior student at Smith College Measures 11" X 6 ½" Tear at the folds which have been mended with archival tissue Corbett disappeared from Smith College the same day her friend and fellow student Jean Robeson was found dead from accidental asphyxiation of illuminating gas Corbett wrote a note "Mother I am going home" The poster refers to Corbett whose "mind was temporarily affected" An extensive search was undertaken but Corbett was never found.

Paris: Booster Publications, 1938. Uncut copy and in very good condition This copy is not signed by Miller and does not have the manuscript copyright information found in most examples 64 pp pp.

London, New York: Gibbings & Co, 1913. 3 volumes bound in 3/4 morrocco. Nice condition with light rubbing and book plates of Maine bookseller Gary Woolson. Originally published in 1796 this gothic novel tells the story of the downfall of a monk who falls for a young woman.

PAris: Editions Finisterre, 1953. Green and tan marbled paper wraps. 57 pp. Good with minor wear. Illustrated with cuts of monkeys. Walter had a remarkable career in writing and acting. Born in Alabama he spent many years in Paris and in Italy finally return to America and died in his home state in 1998.

Canaan Four Corners: Press of the Berkshire Industrial Farm, 1903. 27 pp. Good with a small chip to the spine. This includes a speech White gave at a meeting of the Equal Rights Club of Hartford, Connecticut. White was a Shaker sister and part of the progressive North Family at Mt. Lebanon. She was a vegetarian, pacifist and a believer of equal rights for all. Ericson, 8126.

1869. 8 1/2"x 5 1/2". Backed by an album page. Moscheles was born in Bohemia but spent most of his life in Leipzig and London.

New York: Castle Books, 1958. 180 pp. Kay Johnson describes herself as a "square" writer trying to "express the thoughts, feelings, hopes, and drives of lesbians in prison. Early work of lesbian fiction. Some rubbing to the dust jacket.

Binghamton, N.Y.: Republic Print, 1879. 28, [2] pp. Wraps worn, almost detached and stained. Buel killed a farm girl in Plainfield N.Y. and staged the scene to make it look like a bull had killed her. He was found guilty and hanged. Scarce with 8 copies located. McDade, 139.
