Rubbing to the leather, gilt faded a bit, wear to the corners. A tidy and secure binding. Prize label on the marbled endpaper. Age toning/light browning to the pages, a few foxing spots. 32 plates, 267 pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

London: C and J Rivington, 1825. Full-Leather. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Volume 1 of 2. Contains 2 plates (as called for). Pages; VIII, 351, (1). Vellum covers, rebacked in cream coloured cloth, the inner hinges are pretty loose. The text is complete, loosened a bit at the start, the two plates with foxing and toning, but otherwise relatively bright internally. With a frontispiece landscape view of the Hermit's house, and a plate of fossil mytilus shells.

Second edition, (printed after all remaining copies of the 1st edition were burnt in an air raid, expanded to include remarks pertaining to WW2).
