They stayed for four years and learned how natives lived and Caroline painted the headhunters and ceremonies, etc. . Mytinger, (1897-1980) an artist who studied at the Art Students League in New York and elsewhere, was born in Sacramento and raised in Ohio, and later lived in the artist's colony of Monterey, CA. Many b & w textual drawings, 8 full-page drawings (1 is double-page). Endpaper maps. Dust jacket is price-clipped, but there is a $4.00 price printed on the side of the front flap. Important anthropology along with amusing adventures. This was her second book--the first was about the earlier part of their trip.
