Berlin, Germany: Deutsche Lufthansa, n.d.. Loose Photographs. Very Good. Circa late 1930's photographs. When first built in 1929/30, the G 38 was one of the largest aircraft in the world. Four 5" x 7" gelatin silver photographs of the massive Junkers G 38, all with Lufthansa's typed caption IDs and company rubber stamps verso. The 1st image shows the D-2500 [the 2nd G 38 to be built] during liftoff. DJ with the same great artwork - credited to "HD" - as the Doubleday first edition, with only the rear flap and panel changed to reflect Collier's current offerings of the day. A tough jacket to find in decent condition. Danger from the "Yellow Peril" and the "Diabolically cruel and diabolically clever" head of a dope-smuggling ring keeps Scotland Yard busy in this early Crime Club mystery.

Volume with slight bump to head of spine, minor edge wear, soil and creases to covers, some oxidation to staples at center fold, p. 1 with a corner crease and three page fold-out with a misfold crease near center of second panel, else unmarked. Established in 1816 by Judge James Stark and still in business today, the Stark Brothers issued this beautifully illustrated post-war catalog to showcase their fruit trees, ornamentals and flowering stock after being in business for over 131 years.
