Pollock uses lengthy quotes from original accounts of many early Mormons whose writings are otherwise unavailable in published form. The book is long out-of-print, received very little distribution in the US, and is only held by 3 Utah librariesUSU, Weber State, and the Church History Library. Romriell, MORMON HYPERMODERN #33. Written and compiled by Canadian Gordon Pollock, whose Ph.D. dissertation on Mormonism was published as In Search of Security: The Mormons and the Kingdom of God on Earth, 1830-1844 (New York and London: Garland Publishing, 1989) (also out-of-print and rare).
