Eugene, OR: Dead Skin Press, 1999. First printing. 18.5 x 12.5 inches, letterpress on paper, mounted on foamcore, with velcro dots for hanging. Minor rumpling and indentations at edges, otherwise essentially in fine condition. One of several dozen truncated proverbs, printed on variously sized sheets of paper for display as part of Invisible Bullets, a public art installation by O'Connell at Michael Graves's Portland Building in Portland, OR. Each text fragment was printed only once or twice; some were mounted on rigid backing and hung on the wall, and others displayed in vitrines.

A poem in 128 sections (printed in two columns throughout); Fetherston's idiosyncratic take on Lucretius (as he'd done earlier with Sappho, in Woman with Child). Mimeograph text in black plastic comb binding; errata sheet tipped to inside front cover. Some age-darkening to edges of covers and toning of text paper, still a very good copy of a quite uncommon book.

St. Croix, 1981. Stapled wrappers. Unpaginated. Signed by the author on both front and rear covers, and additionally inscribed and signed by him on dedication page. Wrappers lightly scuffed and soiled; vertical crease and small stain to rear wrapper. Uncommon work by this Afro-Caribbean writer. 8vo.

A tight, clean copy, with just a touch of sunning at the top and bottom edges of the cloth, and a couple of minuscule spots on the front edge of the text block. In a bright, unclipped jacket with some fading around the spine, and a few tiny chips and closed edge tears. The cloth issue is scarce, especially so in any sort of jacket; a much nicer copy than usually seen. A previous bookseller's notation on the endsheet gives the provenance as contributor "Richard Duerden's review copy." A single-sheet six-panel accordion, attached to front and rear boards covered in printed paper, for eight images total. Published in an edition of five signed and dated copies. Artist Anna Daedalus uses photography in a conceptual practice that often embraces environmental concerns through narrative and myth. For her series of Night Tree accordion books, she exploits a moving camera to make hybrid images that are simultaneously abstract compositions and heightened, animated depictions of trees. A near-fine copy; save for very faint traces of rubbing to edges of boards, essentially as new.
