Numerous corrections by the author to the texts, mostly of a minor nature, but with some alterations and additions. Presentation set from the author to John and Gillian Sutro, inscribed on the title-page of the first volume: ''Presented to the Reverend and Mrs Sutro by the author - Christopher Sykes''. Together with a nice copy of the first edition, lacking the dustwrapper. The proofs do not contain the black and white illustrations.Covers slightly marked and creased. All three volumes cocked. Very good.
