Publisher's green cloth gilt. Some staining, fraying to spine tips, rubbing to joints, corners rubbed back to board. All edges gilt: still bright. Hinge cracked but text block held firmly in place. Three different inscriptions to front matter but contents o/w clean. 56 pp. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. The 'Charles Eaton' sailed from London in 1833 and underway struck a reef at the entrance of the Torres Strait and was wrecked. The fate of the passengers and crew was unknown until Captain Lewis of 'Isabella' found the survivors, John Ireland and William D'Oyly, on Murray's Island.
