An essay Mailer wrote after his infamous 1971 appearance on the Dick Cavett Show, in which he spars with Cavett and writers Gore Vidal and Janet Flanner.

All volumes include an alphabetical index and errata, along with AQHA directors and officers, and champion/supreme champion information.No jackets as issued. Text blocks and spines of older volumes are a bit darker with age, compared to the more recent books. About a third have bumping to the spine/corners, and an equal number have rubbing/light scratches on the boards. The boards of volumes 17, 33 and 34 have indentations as through they were dropped; #34 is cocked, and the back hinge of #35 is stressed. Good contrast and details. The junior Haynes' take on an Old Faithful eruption includes a silhouette of the Old Faithful Lodge rooftop in the background. Photo paper has a bit of rippling.

A series of sketches offering "glimpses of the past" by the Shakespearean scholar, historian and publisher of The Penny Magazine, Knight's Weekly Volumes, and numerous works for the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. From the collection of Dr. William J. Kerr (1889-1965), professor and chair of the UCSF Department of Medicine and founder of the Gold-Headed Cane Society. These volumes have been passed down in the Kerr family, as evidenced by bookplates of Robert Malcolm Kerr on the inside fronts and ink inscriptions by C.H.M. Kerr, dated 5 June 1881, on the front free endpapers. Moderate edge wear to boards with minor loss to the leather corners.
