New York: Harper & Row, 1988. First U.S. Edition, First Printing. Pictorial Wraps. Near Fine. Light rubbing to bottom of text block with some minor dust soiling. Minor edge wear to bottom front corner. This is an Advance Reading Copy from the Uncorrected Proofs. Signed on the title page by the author. A very bright collectible copy of the author's 1988 Booker Prize winning novel. This book also won the 1989 Miles Franklin Award. The first printing of the hardcover U.S. first edition was 30,000 copies. A film version released in 1997 was directed by Gillian Armstrong and starred Ralph Fiennes, Cate Blanchett, and Tom Wilkinson.
