Each art historian discusses various finds from Syria and neighboring lands; Rostovtzeff includes some horse equipment. Sold as a group.

Brown cloth with mounted color illustration. The covers are a little loose, which is due partly to flexible hinges that allow the book to lie flat. One of Richardson's several illustrated books of fairy tales and folk stories for Volland. Large color plates, chapter heads, and marginal decorations depicting the litle red hen, the three little pigs, the three bears, etc. A treat for every animal-loving child!

Roberts was Veterinary Inspector, Board of Agriculture, London, in 1894. Eugene Nicolas was a military veterinarian and the author of several books. This treatise on comparative veterinary ophtalmology (diseases, care, and treatment of the eye) is notable for its color plates showing the retinas of various mammals--chiefly the horse, also the dog, cat, sheep, goat, and ox.
