The album has a ten 8x10 & 5x7 photos laid in, tournament entry forms, tournament rules and newspaper articles covering girls and women's tennis in Oklahoma City in the 1940's. There is a ticket to a 1949 tennis clinic put on by Alice Marble, with her autograph on the front of the ticket. The slipcased album is 10"x12", approx.42 pages+ the photographs.Several clipping laid in, a few others are loose because of dried out glue. Nice condition..

On Growing Up, His Letters from and to American Children This book is inscribed by Herbert Hoover to Marietta Fuller, who worked for the American Relief Agency [of which Hoover was Chairman] as a researcher from 1920 until 1934. In that role, she completed a comprehensive list of every address, public letter, article etc. written by Hoover between 1917 and 1933; a list that still sees scholarly use. Hoover remained friends with Ms. Fuller until his death in 1964. Laid in is a 1962 Herbert Hoover Christmas card..

In "One Hour With You" (1932), a musical comedy directed by Ernst Lubitsch with the assistance of George Cukor, the stars Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald play a married couple, Andre and Colette, who are first seen canoodling in a park - a place regularly reserved for illicit lovers. Colette's bestie, a bona fide homewrecker named Mitzi (a delightfully lusty Genevieve Tobin), takes a liking to Andre, prompting a night of infidelity from both sides that is conclusively brushed under the rug when the couple decide they love each other too much to let such trivial pursuits ruin them. As for Mitzi, she responds to her own husband's divorce request with suave nonchalance, driving off with a risqué self-portrait in tow. The front of the album is marked 'Commanding Officer VXE-6'. There are approx 55 photos [ 5x7 - 11x14 inches], together with newspaper clippings of VXE-6's deployment to Antarctica, and its rescue mission of downed Russian pilots. One photo labeled Operation Deep Freeze is a composite photo of all the men in the Post. Also a phograph inscribed to Commander Morgan signed by W. Graham Clayton Jr, Secretary of the Navy December 1978. There are 16 large photos measuring 14" x 11" loose in the back showing planes and helicopters, penguins, etc. .

Poster. Very Good. No Binding. The Cultural Revolution which took place between circa1966 and 1976 was a social/ political movement. Mao Tse Tung, then Chairman of the ruling Communist Party started this movement to reinforce strict communist dogma. Capitalism and traditional Chinese culture were to be obliterated. Big-character posters were used to denounce people as opponents of the Revolution. Red Guards (pupils and students who swear loyalty to Mao and his Little Red Book) destroy anything that is branded 'old' and eliminate people considered 'rightists'. The posters also were part of the campaign to respond to particular issues as they arose locally or nationally. The Cultural Revolution plunges China into turmoil and internal strife; the country is in chaos, but the posters only show enthusiasm. Approx. 20x30 inches, in nice collectible shape..
