Jan 01, 1975. Cards. Very Good. [Third Edition, 1979] A deck of 123 Oracle Cards housed in a black titled box. A limited edition of 1,000 (although 2,500 is also cited). Measures about 4-1/4 x 3-1/4 x 1-7/8 inches. Each card contains a phrase or cryptic remark designed to break a deadlock or dilemma situation. Some are specific to music composition, others are more general. The 3rd Edition of Oblique Strategies was the final edition published before the death of Peter Schmidt (1931-1980), produced and offered for sale through Eno and Opal in the late 1970s. After Schmidt's death, no more commercially available copies of the deck were produced until a fifth edition was released in early 2002. Box has some handling wear but cards are fine. (fc)
