Amsterdam : Museum Fodor, 1963. Small quarto, pictorial wrappers (lightly marked), 24 pp, illustrated with black-and-white photographic plates; a good copy. Catalogue produced for Museum Fodor's exhibition of objects from the astonishing private collection of Peter Kohler, Ascona (Switzerland), staged from 22 May to 30 June 1963. It features many sculptural masterpieces from the Sepik, Yuat, Keram and Korewori River regions, and other significant objects from the Chambri Lakes area and Manam Island;

Sydney: Duffy and Snellgrove, 1997. Octavo, hardcover in dustjacket, 354 pp illustrated, spine sunned. Signed by the artist on the title page and dated '97, inscribed by Olsen 'For John & Suzanne' with a full page pen drawing of a man in a trench coat standing in front of an impressive vintage automobile. A very good copy with an interesting drawing.

Two albumen print photographs, carte de visite format, 101 x 64 mm (mounts), 90 x 57 mm (images), versos with imprint of Dalton's Royal Photographic Gallery, Sydney; the albumen prints with some tiny ink spots, otherwise both cartes are in very good condition. The American opera singers Henry Squires (1825-1907) and Lucy Escott (1827-1895) arrived in Australia in 1861 with William Saurin Lyster's opera company. They performed throughout Australasia during the 1860s, with Escott as the company's prima donna. The Australian music historian Harold Love commented: 'Between them, aided by Lyster's promotional flair, Escott and Squires created an audience for opera capable, on occasions at least, of packing the 3,300 seat Royal, and came as close as anyone apart from Melba has ever done in Australia to making it a form of mass entertainment.' Theosophical periodical edited by the English Christian industrialist, Joseph Biddy (1851 -1940). Includes many illustrations by Sir Joshua Reynolds, a depiction of Admirable Sir David Beatty reading the terms of the Armistice to the German delegates in the fore-cabin of the H.M.S. Elizabeth at the close of World War I, and a fairy plate by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite titled 'The Rendezvous' (half-page in black & white). Illustrated verse, some first published in The Bulletin, while other poems are published here for the first time. 'Of this edition 650 copies have been printed on toned paper, numbered, price 3s. 6d.; 99 copies on larger white paper, initialed by the authors, price 5s. each, and 13 special copies, signed by the authors, price £1 1s. each'. This is one of the numbered copies, number 505. Fragile and rare, printed when Lindsay was 23. This copy in especially fine condition.

An important scientific paper which relates to Flinders' observations on the relationship between atmospheric pressure with regard to variation and deviation of navigation by magnetic compass. In this article, Flinders uses the term Australia for the first time in a scientific context in reference to the island continent. In 1814 his atlas would include the first map of the continent entitled Australia. Folio (320 x 275 mm), publisher's gilt-lettered cloth over boards, in pictorial dust jacket (very good); pp. 640, with a total of 731 illustrations in colour and b/w, maps; half title with pale foxing, faint damp stain to top edges of last few leaves, but an excellent reference copy. Parisian tribal art dealer Anthony Meyer's monumental and fabulously well illustrated publication is probably still the best general introduction to Oceanic Art available. Covers the cultures of Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia.

Paris : Bouasse-Lebel, [c 1860]. Engraved map, 31 x 43cm, with hand colouring, laid on wood and dissected to form a jigsaw puzzle, original backing paper, a few stains, complete. A charming puzzle map of Oceania. The maps were usually unbound sheets from an atlas.

Melbourne : the artist, 2017. Duodecimo, illustrated gatefold wrappers, illustrated throughout in colour, a visual diary of the artist's time spent in Japan. ""The sketches, photographs and notes were made 'on the move' in Japan during October 2017. This notebook is reproduced in its original form. A small edition of 150 copies was printed and bound in melbourne, Australia.""- Colophon. In fact a smaller edition of 75 copies were printed, signed and numbered by the artist.

Limited to 50 copies, this is copy 18. The first collaboration between artist and binder. A fine contemporary Australian artist's book 'Calligraphy by Gemma Black. Printed one sheet at a time by Lloyd McPherson, using a Vicobold press.
