Dunne's sly humour and political acumen won the support of President Theodore Roosevelt, a frequent target of Mr. Dooley's barbs. Indeed Dunne's sketches became so popular and such a litmus test of public opinion that they were read each week at White House cabinet meetings ... Read more

London - R. and J. Dodsley, 1754 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Disbound pamphlet. Lord Lyttelton's famous argument in defense of Christianity based on the conversion of the Apostle Paul. In a late conversation Lyttleton and West had together upon the subject of the Christian religion, Lyttleton told West that besides all the proofs of it which may be drawn from the prophecies of the Old Testament, from the necessary connection it has with the whole system of the Jewish religion, from the miracles of Christ, and from the evidence given of his resurrection and the Apostleship of St. Paul, the author thought the conversion and the Apostleship of St. Paul alone was of itself a demonstration sufficient to prove Christianity to be a divine revelation. Condition: The binding is tight and firm and all pages are intact. The pamphlet is disbound. The text itself is very clean and bright with no obvious marks.
