Some nice engravings of Philadelphia buildings. One of the scarcer mid-19th century directories.

Contemporary owner name on the front pastedown. A very good copy. Spear, p. 288. Despite the library markings, this remains a fairly pleasing copy of a very scarce directory.

One of 443 numbered copies. Repton was the successor to "Capability" Brown as the architect of the grounds and gardens of the late 18th century British gentry. He was known for his making watercolor drawings of his proposals of the grounds he proposed to improve for his clients.

Nicholl, offers a memoir of her initial sojourns in the New Mexico territory as a farmer. The effort to write for a British audience is obvious in this scarce first edition (the American edition came three years later). Dykes says that "Nicholl" was a pseudonym for Edith M.
