Book Condition: wear to extremities with pinspots of scuffing to both covers, sun toned spine, lettering dulled. Bright and fresh gilt decorations on cover, shiny gilt edges all around. Very sound binding, all joints and hinges strong and intact. Book consists of leaves of very heavy stock printed recto only, each leaf featuring an engraving in steel and a portion of verse. The first leaf differs, featuring an engraving in steel only, then followed by title page (w/ copyright printed on verso, the only leaf printed on both sides). A lovely, sound example of this charming piece of Lincolniana. Very Good+ at the least. designs by L.B. Humphrey ; engraved by John Andrew & Son.

Presumably each edition builds upon the one prior, improving, eliminating harmful errors, dispensing the results of recent breakthroughs. Makes being certain you have this, the 11th edition, as opposed to, say, the error filled, old fashioned thinking, 6th edition pretty crucial if you think about it.
