Wear and chipping along spine of #15. Nice shape overall. The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Television, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Blondie, The Dictators, Destroy All Monsters, Iggy Pop, James Chance, The Clash and all sorts of early punk celebrities were profiled and lampooned in the pages of Holmstrom's now-classic Punk.

Irving Layton was an early and lifelong friend and mentor. Also in this issue are poems by Louis Dudek, Cohen's teacher and supporter from his University of McGill undergraduate days. Quite uncommon signed.

Copy #447 of 500 copies hand-numbered and signed by D.H. Lawrence. Near Fine with fairly minor browning and foxing to glassine wraps (much less than most copies), rear end leaf rippled. Lacking original slipcase. An attractive copy. The first printing of Lawrence' final poetry book to include the 14 poems excised from the Secker first edition, which was suppressed by Scotland Yard.

A great association between playwright Odets, with one of his more difficult plays, and Hollywood actor Fredric March, a major star of his day. Odets' thanking March for his patronage of the experimental Group Theater collective, who put on this play, is a nice bit of Great Depression-era theater context too. The Group Theater would last ten years total; their biggest success would be the following year with Odets' play Golden Boy.
