Slight fore edge foxing and a few slight foxspots to the half title and title page. The book has a little spine lean. Previous owners name and date ink stamp to the front paste down with an associated number. Clean and tight. Original dust wrapper with light sunning to the spine of the wrapper. There is a reduced price sticker to the front of the wrapper and a little scattered light soiling to the wrapper. No Illustrations. 414pp. This book has been published by The Medici Society and printed by the Riccardi Press in 1912. Text in Latin. Bound in green paper covered boards with a gilt embossed shield to the front board. Upper edges gilt.Rough cut pages with several unopened pages. The spine of the book is significantly faded and there is a bump to the tail of the spine and the head of the spine is a little turned in with light associated rubbing. Some light rubbing/mottling to the boards. Light toning to the end papers and a former owners ink name to the title page, including place and date 1919. The textblock is very clean and tight. A very good copy.

Each work will be sold together with a photographic certifcate of authenication, signed by the heir from whom it was acquired'. Two corners bumped one corner slightly bumped and light bumps to head/tail of spine with - all with slight associated creasing to the wrapper. The front panel of the wrapper is lifting a little at the tail. The wrapper is not price-clipped. A lovely, signed very good, tight, clean copy.

Original publisher's cloth with charming gilt blocked design (of a lady kissing her cat!) to the front board and gilt embossed lettering to the spine. Upper edge gilt. Original ribbon page-divider - separated at the spine. Numerous b/w illustrations throughout support the text. Splitting to the front inner hinge. Slight splitting to the rear inner hinge. There are a couple of nicks to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine with some assocaited rubbing. All four corners are lightly turned in and there is a light bump to one corner and to the front edge of the front board and there is a light rub mark to the head of the front board. Internally clean and tight with only one neat ink name inscription to the head of the reverse of the frontispiece plate. A very good minus copy.

No date, though a purple name inscription to the half title page is dated 1914.Gilt embossed vignette and lettering to the front board and spine. Light shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine and to the lower edges of the boards. Slight soil marks to the boards. All edges gilt. Illustrated with several full page plates, including a frontispiece. A few nicks to the top edge of one of the illustrative plates, with some associated creasing to the edge, in no way affecting the illustration. Otherwise the book is clean, and tight. A charming, very good copy.
