Complete with all three plates, including a three-part folding plate. Covers rubbed and corners bumped. Some foxing, very faint water stain to bottom right corner of the first few pages. Overall, very good copy with no writing. Very scarce. The Pearl of Great Price is considered one of the four standard works of the Mormon Church. The others being The Book of Mormon, The Holy Bible and Doctrine and Covenants. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Abraham from papyri found in mummies that was purchased from a traveling exhibition in 1836. Single leaf in Arabic on paper (11 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches; 290 x 215 mm.). Image area ( 11 x 7 inches; 280 x 180 mm). With three rows of Arabic on recto, above the image and four rows of Arabic below the image. Manuscript along fore-edge of recto and on verso of the leaf as well. Image ruled in black, gilt and blue. A polychromatic image heightened in gilt. Two small pieces of tape along top edge, not affecting painting. Matted, framed and glazed. Over all a very nice, beautiful painting. Painting depicts a few scenes of leisure, with men drinking and dancing. Two men sit near a tent with a horse. HBS 65730. $450.

Miss Dicken's Type Writing Office, 1934. of his Father) Miss Dickens's Type Writing Office, [N.p.: N.d., ca. 1934]. Typescript of a lecture, 118 pp. On one side only. Quarto. With about twenty hand changes in text. The lecture was published in a supplement to the Christmas number of the Windsor Magazine for 1934, under the title "An Important Literary Discovery" and with a forward by Mary Angela Dickens, Charles Dickens's grand-daughter. This typescript was done at "Miss Dickens" typewriting office, and according to a pencil note, "She was one of the pioneers of Typewriting in London. She charged 1/2d a folio." Half brown morocco over brown pebbled cloth, gilt-stamped on spine with five raised bands. Many period corrections throughout. Edges rubbed, small spot to front cover. Very good. HBS 66157. $1,500.
