The dust jacket is bright orange and black with only some fraying at top of spine; it is in a Mylar protective cover. The interior pages are very clean and bright; there is no writing or marking inside. The book contains profiles of several important pioneers in the post-revolutionary war history of Upstate New York including Nathaniel Rochester, Joseph Smith, Mary Jemison, and the Wadsworth family. The book contains several black/white photographs of historical people and buildings.

George Wahr. Ann Arbor. 1939. Third edition stated. xlvii, 158 pages. Hardcover. The green covers are in good condition, with moderate bumping on top and bottom of spine and corners. There is fading and some color loss and very small spotting to the covers and spine, especially along the edges. The spine color is faded, but title and author in gold are still visible. The binding is solid; the spine is rolled a bit. The interior of this book is in good plus condition. The only writing detected is a previous owners name on the front free endpaper. The pages are generally clean and bright.

There are a couple of white spots on the front cover, the top/bottom of spine are rolled and frayed, the corners are bumped. The title is in bright gold on front cover; the gold lettering on the spine is faded but readable. The binding is intact, but the front hinge is loose. The interior of the book is in good plus condition. There is no writing or significant spotting/foxing detected; the pages are mildly toned. The book contains many illustrations of shafting, pulleys and other mechanical topics. This is one of several titles written by the author in The Power Handbooks series. Other titles in the series are listed opposite the title page.

The Bullard Company. Boston. 1912. Date on title page. 407 pages. Hardcover. The tan covers are in good condition, their is general wear with mild bumping at the corners. The front cover is profusely illustrated and, while there is some fading to the illustration, it is still in good condition. The spine is faded and scuffed in spots with the title and author still readable. The back cover is faded with some light soiling and spotting. The binding is solid. The interior of the book is in good condition. The only writing detected is a previous owners' name on the front endpaper. The pages and page edges are mildly toned. There are small stains or soiling on a few pages (detected on less than 10 pp.); there is no foxing detected in the book. The book is illustrated with 57 full page black and white plates. These plates include photographs of individual plants and gardens and are in very good condition. This is a nice horticulture book from the early 20th century.

The title and author are in dark green on the front cover and spine, although the spine is faded, the writing is still readable. The binding is intact, although the hinge is loose in a couple of spots in the book. The interior pages of this book are in very good condition. The pages are clean and bright; no writing, markings, or foxing detected. There is a small section of pages (approx. 25) where the fore-edges are frayed a bit. There are 331 black /white Illustrations in the book including many drawings and some photographs describing various pruning techniques for a wide variety of plants including apples, grapes. raspberries and shade trees.
