The front and rear wrap have some insect damage to the paper in the upper left corner on the front wrap. A small bit of damage in the lower right corner back cover. The interior contents are in very good condition. Part 2 only. From wikipedia: The Palmetto Regiment of Volunteers of South Carolina was an infantry regiment that participated in the Mexican-American War. It suffered heavy losses and was known for the first American colors over Mexico City, when it raised its regimental flag. The South had contributed many more troops to the war than did the North, as its leaders supported a policy of expansion of slavery into the Mexican territories.

Two photographs per page are oriented in opposite direction and can be viewed from front page to back page and vice versa. Front cover is light faded and damp-stained on the far edge. Light damp-stains on the edges not affecting the pictures. This souvenir booklet was sold on the Hudson River Day Line Steamer for $1.00. A 16 page supplement accompanying the book is titled "Supplement of the Hudson Panorama - Up the River". This brochure contains additional information of places along the Hudson.
