Description:
Paris: Académie des Orateurs, 1665. FIRST AND ONLY EDITION of this official account of a "conference" held to determine whether it is better to be a cuckold without that fact being generally known, or to not be a cuckold even though everyone thinks you are one. 16 pp numbered 151-564 (!), complete. Includes five discourses by leading intellectuals, and then the Academy's resolution. Richesource published each of his "Conférences académiques" individually, with the intent that they be ultimately bound up into larger volumes. The printing was totally chaotic, as the pagination and the signatures of this pamphlet demonstrate. Attractively printed on fine laid paper. Disbound. FINE AND BRIGHT. Not in Laporte, Bibliographie jaune (the standard bibliography of French books relating to cuckoldry). Extremely rare.
