Llewelyn died shortly after this book was published while returning home after a book signing, so copies signed by him are scarce. Fully illustrated throughout. Lovely bright copy in publishers full colour wraps(the book was also issued at the same time in hardback form, but only 1000 copies were bound). A nice item of Bondiana which includes a comprehensive list of Q`s gadgetry from each film.

Hodder and Stoughton. London. -- No date. 1913. FIRST THOMSON EDITION. 4to.(10.5 x 8.4 inches). 22 mounted colour plates, each with a printed paper guard. A fine and clean copy in an early fine binding of half green morocco. The spine has two raised bands, each with decorative gilt tooling. Tan title label, gilt. Gilt ruled box designs. There is an illustrated multi coloured leather onlay design to the middle of the spine showing a couple walking in the rain, under an umbrella. Blue cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Previous owners colour bookplate to the front paste down. A fine copy in a fine binding. The binding is unsigned but certainly the work of a master bookbinder.

As often with these deluxe editions the silk ties are missing from the boards. Overall a very good copy of this highly decorative and beautiful book.

A very good set in the beautiful decorative Art Nouveau style red cloth bindings designed by Talwin Morris. Front boards with gilt, dark green and light green decorations. Spines with gilt lettering and decoration plus dark and light green blocking. Rear boards decorated in white and green. Bevelled edges to all boards. Plain grey endpapers. All edges gilt. Some rubbing to the edges and uniform fading to the cloth spines but the gilt and colours still strong and bright and this is a very attractive set in these beautiful bindings. --- This design, featuring attractive Glasgow Roses and Crowns, was exhibited at the influential Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte Decorativa Moderna in Turin in 1902.
