This book is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked in an about very good dust jacket in mylar. It is very lightly rubbed. The dust jacket is age darkened and has a 1+" chip at the bottom of the spine. It has 218, bright, clear pages bound in light blue cloth covered boards with black titles on the spine and front. This title is the penultimate in the front list and the list on the dj flap, but in the middle of the ads list.

Aakron, OH: The Saalfield Publishing Company, 1947. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Ethel Hays. This assumed first edition is clean, tight, square and unmarked. It is rubbed at the corners (rounded) and has some light damp stain lower, rear, spine that oddly blends in with clouds drawn there. The pages are all bright and clear with color drawings particularly bright, even the color drawings on the boards are good. The plastic, green, comb binding is very good with only a little wear on the bottom slot of the last few pages. There is a tape repair to the upper corner, title page.

There is a gift inscription and date (1918) on a front end paper; otherwise it is unmarked. It is basically clean (small red stain at the top edge of the rear board), tight and square with good. There's light bumping/rubbing at the edges, noticeable at the ends of the spine. There are red titles on the front and spine. The boards are bright, particularly the picture on the front of the girls on horseback. It is illustrated with black & white drawings. It has very nice pictorial end papers and 296 pages plus ads.
