It has deep green cloth covers with die-stamped gilt lettering on the front panel and spine. As for the interior, the binding is tight and secure, and the text pages are clean and sparkling throughout, with no tears or stains. There is a dated signature of an early owner on the ffep. According to the Title Page, this book is "a textbook in the Standard Leadership Training Curriculum outlines and approved by the International Council of Religious Education." The author, William Clayton Bower, was Professor of Religious Education at the University of Chicago. The book is bound in light gray-green cloth covers with die-stamped black titles on front panel and spine. The bottom corner of the front panel is bumped. Garden City, New York: Doubleday, Page & Co., 1924. The 24 books that make up the Personal Edition of Conrad's works were initially sold separately but with uniform covers. For this reason, the books themselves make no mention of volume numbers, but the dust jackets do. This is an odd copy from such a set and has the extremely rare original dust jacket (click on photo) numbered Volume VIII. The dust jacket has chips at the spine tips and corners, as well as darkerning of the spine, and overall toning. However, it has protected the book itself well over the years. This is a nice, clean copy, bound in a satiny navy blue cloth with top-edge gilt and yellow spine titles. Decorative elements include a blindstamped vignette ship between several blindstamped bands on the spine as well. The binding is tight and secure.
