(London), 4 1/4 x 6 1/8 inches tall brown buckram cloth hardcover, no dust jacket, gilt design and lettering to front cover and spine, page edges red, all pages ruled in red, xi, 208 pp. Moderate to heavy soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers, with cracking along both sides of backstrip, where it appears to have been glued at some point. Lacks blank endpapers, but is otherwise complete. 1870 prior owner's name in pencil to half title page. A few pages with light to moderate soiling or creasing. Despite all these detractions, still an excellent reading/reference copy of this scarce compilation. OCLC (No. 181736949) locates only two copies of this edition at institutions worldwide. ~BBB~ [1.0P] A compilation of Christian quotations and poetry drawn from many sources, with an introduction by Charles John Vaughan (1816-1897), an English scholar and Anglican churchman.
