Additionally the list of paintings is inscribed "We hope to see you both again soon, R. S." American artists R. B. Kitaj (1932-2007) and his second wife Sandra Fisher were friends of Raphael Soyer and also the subject of at least 1 double portrait painted by Soyer. Issued in decorative clamshell box covered in gray checkered Japanese paper; portfolio bound in same material, text in English and Japanese with 10 text pages and 10 illustrations on facing pages printed on one side of a continuous strip folded accordion style to make 22 leaves (including title and colophon) and attached at the end to the decorative cover. Colophon reads: "Numbers is a book dealing with phonetics. This book was designed and printed on a handmade Japanese paper, of eleven silkscreen prints by Seiko Tachibana at SFAI printmaking studio in April, 1994. The Japanese characters are handwritten by the artist. The English words are typewritten. This proof was hand bound by the artist." Signed by the artist and numbered 17/20.
