Description:
London: Constable. London, Constable, 1942. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A near fine copy. Inscribed by the author to John Arlott, presumably the cricket journalist though the 1942 would be very early in his career and I presume he wasn't well known at that point. Presented with the book are two ALS from the author to Arlott, and 8pp of proof sheets with an inscription from the author and minor amendments (stamped by the publisher). The jacket has a little wear and a few short tears, but is largely nice. Some rubbing and wear to the boards, edges foxed. [10129, Hyraxia Books]. . Near Fine. Hardback. 1st Edition. 1942.

Description:
London: W.H. Thomson [but Privately Printed]. London, W.H. Thomson [but Privately Printed], nd [c1890]. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A very good copy. An uncommon book, with nothing in the literature about it. Not in Bleiler, Locke or any other I can find. It seems to be a story revolving around lawyers, with the intro discussing the comparison of lawyers to Satan, and the origin of the term. The book has many a Dickensian character, in name at least, and seems to revolve around the legal arena, but one of the plates clearly portrays Satan, so I'm assuming the link is more than metaphorical. Plenty of plates throughout. One copy located at Cambridge, one in the states. Spine toned, binding a little shaken and the plates probably wouldn't take much persuading to come loose. [11183, Hyraxia Books]. nd [c1890] . Very Good. Hardback. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1890.

London: Mills & Boon. London, Mills & Boon, 1928. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A near fine copy. Uncommon in the jacket. Listed in Hubin as a crime work. Harraden was a suffragette and much of her work directly alludes to her standpoint, though short of reading this I can't suggest that the present novel follows suit. The book's pretty much in great shape with just a little edgewear and tanning to the spine. The jacket's really nice given the fact that it's 1920s. [9998, Hyraxia Books]. . Near Fine.
