''The Sacred Fount sold poorly - the poorest sale of all the James titles published by Methuen. In 1911, apparently encouraged by the success of of The Outcry, which went into four printings, the firm bound a quantity of remaining sheets of the earlier novel. This would explain inclusion in certain copies of a catalogue dated as late as March or August 1911'' (Edel and Laurence, A Bibliography of Henry James, A55b). Edges slightly spotted. Spine slightly faded. Very good indeed.
