General time related wear, Has some minor damage to the text at pages 10 and 16, making just one word in each partly illegible, looks as though something was stuck to the pages at some point, and slight gapping at the gutter between pages 33 and 34. Original brown boards, first edition, first print. The notice-board that appears in the illustration on p. 14 reads "Peter Rabbit & Mother - Florists - Gardens neatly razed. Borders devastated by the night or year"; this was replaced from the third impression onwards to avoid difficulty for foreign translators. Has some straining at the gutter in several places, with some gapping; a tear to page 23 just clipping the top of the colour illustration and a small tear to the top of the title page. Spine has wear and some small tears but full with all the side title. Illustrations and print are very good. Please view the photographs for more information.
