Poor to fair copy of this early temperance almanac, complete excepting top 1/4 of front wrap; self wraps, illustrated. "Prepared and published under the direction of the Executive Committee of the New-York State Temperance Society. Early temperance literature. Wraps turned, torn, chipped and folded at all edges. Text is complete, except for top of front wrap. What is intriguing about this copy is the number of contemporary names and notes inscribed in ink along the margins of the almanac, including: "Andrew Jackson" (does not appear to be the President's signature); "N. Harding"; "Frankin Weekes"; "Appraisal of John George's Estate 2nd September"; "M. Folansbee, E. Lancaster" etc. Full of 'facts and figures', warnings on intemperance.
