After workshopping/premiering at the Mabou Mines loft, it had a 14-week run at the Public in 1978, directed by John Pynchon Holms. This recording features Vesselina Kasarova, Eva Mei, Ramon Vargas, and Harry Peeters with the Chorus of Bayerischen Rundfunks and Munchner Rundfunkorchester, conducted by Roberto Abbado. Moscow: Izvestia Sovetov Narodnykh Deputatov SSSR, 1990. Large Softcover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. ISSN 0131-6885. This highly regarded and rather progressive Russian-language arts journal was published near the end of the Soviet era, at a time when governmental ideological influence was still an issue for creative artists. I cannot, however, attest to the "tone" of this publication (regarding its liberal or conservative focus), but it does not seems particularly restrictive.
