Both volumes are in very good condition, minor corner wear, clean and unmarked. 200 & [98] pages. 13 x 10 inches. The slipcase has a few surface edge-chips on its reverse back side panel; its front panel is decorated with a batik/sun/jets illustration; title pyrographically stamped on spine. The first volume pictorially documents this WESTPAC cruise, which departed from Alameda, California on 12 Dec 1961, had ports of call at Honolulu, Subic Bay, Sasebo, Yokosuka, Kobe, and Hong Kong, and returned to Alameda on 16 Jul 1962. The second volume is the ''Crew's Who'' volume with pictures of ship personnel, officers and sailors, each identified by last name, first and middle initials, and rating. The USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) was a Midway-class aircraft carrier, commissioned in 1947 and decommissioned in 1990.

Laid-in is a commemorative booklet with portraits from the sixth reunion of the Craven, held in 1993 at Williamsburg, Virginia. The USS Craven (DD-382) was a Gridley-class destroyer commissioned in the United States Navy from 1937 to 1946, active in the Pacific during World War II.
