One of the few books written about an expedition before it took place. Different authors wrote sections of the book including: Vilhjalmur Stefansson about the background history, Simon Lake about the development of the under ice submarine and Wilkins about the plans. The book is about the attempt to travel to the pole under the ice using a modified US sub.
