NY: Fenno, 1895.. [440]pp. Original brown wrappers lettered in black. Some small chips to edges and corners, but quite a nice clean copy. Issued as No. 35 in Fenno's Summer Series, Dec. 20, 1895. This English translation was first published in 1877. A historical novel of ancient Egypt.

NY: Munro, Copyright 1886.. cat40a. Rebound in recent plain wrappers, with a lettered spine label. Original covers lacking. First leaf nearly detached, paper browned, about very good. Listed in Hubin, citing: Munro, 1891. This copy is from after 1900, as indicated by ads within. Also issued as No. 4 in The Calumet Series, 1891. Obviously, this title has had a number of reprint editions.

Toronto: Oxford University Press, 1940. First edition, Ukrainian version.. [32]pp. Orange & black printed wrappers, stapled. Some wear to edges, some soiling in margins, staples a bit rusty; generally very good otherwise. Issued as OXFORD PAMPHLETS ON WORLD AFFAIRS No. C.3. This text of this copy is entirely in Ukrainian, save for the Series info and price on the covers, and the imprint on the title page. Uncommon in this form.

London: Chatto & Windus, 1914. First edition.. Blue cloth designed and lettered in gilt. Title page printed in black and red. Front end paper/fly leaf removed, cut in title page along gutter but still attached, spine a bit sunned, a clean very good copy. 4pp. of ads at rear, as well as a 32-page publisher's catalogue dated October, 1913. A very uncommon novel by Mrs. Maxwell Armfield, which concerns a young English's girl's time in Florence.

American Law Register, 1867.. An offprint in original tan printed wrappers. 8 pages paginated [727] - 732. About fine condition. A foot note on the first page states: "A letter from Dr. Francis Lieber, to a member of the New York Constitutional Convention, revised with additions by the author." A scarce offprint.

[Vancouver]: Sun Stone House/Giampa/Cobblestone, [c.1977]. A 4-page booklet, finely printed in red & black. This copy unfolded, so a single sheet measuring 9 x 12 inches. Fine condition. Limited to 300 copies. Translated by Karl Siegler. 26 copies were signed, but not this one.

[Madeira Park]: Harbor Publishing, [nd]. . This is a portfolio of 6 prints, in an illustrated envelope. They were issued to accompany Lane's book UNBORN THINGS: SOUTH AMERICAN POEMS. There are five different prints - one is duplicated. Fine condition, light wear to the envelope. The prints measure 8.5 X 6.5 inches.

NY: Greystone Press, (1936). First edition. Beige cloth, front cover designed in blue, spine lettered in blue. Some wear and light fraying to spine ends, some dust soiling, generally very good in pictorial dust jacket which is also dust soiled, and chipped at spine ends & corners. Of an American ship forced to deviate its course to the Island of Torva. Waldron was an American novelist born in Michigan. He was the managing editor of Collier's Weekly at the onset of WWI.

cat40a. NY: Appleton, 1897. First American edition. Maroon buckram, designed and lettered in silver & gilt. Frontispiece & 11 inserted plates by Robert Sauber. Pinkish-brown coated end papers. Small pen signature on front fly leaf, ownership label of noted Sherlockian and author John Ruyle on the front end paper; a bit of discoloration to the lower edge of the cloth, mostly near the spine, not serious, but a bright and attractive copy. Green & Gibson A21c, one of 10,000 copies.

Chicago: Laird & Lee, (1900).. cat40a. Rebound in modern plain wrappers, with a lettered spine label. Original front cover lacking, original back cover bound in. Several illustrations. Large piece cut from the top corner of the title page, wear and staining to the title page and contents page, old stain to margin through first part of book, very good otherwise. Listed by Hubin, citing this edition, and a London, Ward edition also published in 1900. A rough copy, but an uncommon title.

NY: Street & Smith, (1898).. cat40a. Rebound in modern plain wrappers, with a lettered spine label. Original front cover lacking, back cover bound in. Frontispiece and several illustrations in the text. Paper browned, new wrappers detached from body of text (easily fixed), very good. The original back cover indicates that this was No. 28 in The Magnet Library, March 9, 1898. Listed in Hubin, citing a Street & Smith edition, 1889. Young also wrote under the names Harry Rockwood, and Nick Carter.

NY: George Munro's Sons, 1899.. cat40a. 146pp. Rebound in green cloth, diagonally lettered on the front cover in gold. Covers soiled and stained, paper very browned, a rough copy. Probably this was originally issued in wrappers. Listed by Hubin, who cites the ROYAL edition of 1897. An uncommon title.

This is not the book, but a poster for this Coach House Press book, published in 1977. It measures about 18 X 17 inches. Printed in color, most of the poster is taken up by a reproduction of the David Milne Dry point, Blue Sky Palgrave, 2nd version. A few wrinkles at margins, but about fine. An uncommon advertising poster.

London: Collins/Crime Club, (1974). First English edition.. cat40a. Advance proof copy of the first English edition. Red wrappers, typed label on front cover. A couple of creases, but a clean very good copy. First published in France in 1972 as: "Le Compagnon Indesirable."

[Berkeley: Poltroon Press, 1982]. . A broadside, measuring 8.75 X 16 inches. Some light marginal wrinkles, but fine. Printed on gray stock in an edition of 69 copies. This is the text of a letter to the Editor of the Berkeley Monthly, written by Burton in response to the Monthly's publication of a dismissive review of the Ripploh film: Taxi Zum Klo.

NY: Appleton, 1930. First American edition. . Red cloth, lettered in gilt. A very clean, very good copy in a slightly worn dust jacket, small chip to the upper front hinge. Ownership signature on the front fly. An unusually nice copy of a book difficult to fine in the jacket. A murder mystery, listed in Hubin. The UK edition was published the same year by Hodder.

Sheet size is 27cm x 21cm. It shows the US as far west as "Missouri Territory". From Butler's "A General Atlas of Ancient and Modern Geography". 1822.

London: R. Noble for J. Scatcherd and J. Whitaker, 1792. First edition.. Modern beige cloth, printed paper spine label. Frontispiece, 12 Bill of Fare Plates for the individual months, and a plate of carving options at page 320. Repaired tear in the frontispiece (between portraits, not affecting images), edges of the first leaf and several final leaves chipped and browned at edges, moderate foxing of the plates; a very good copy. Hand-written recipes on several leaves: verso of the January Bill of Fare Plate (Cherry Bounce); verso of page 451 (Thick Ginger Bread); final two blank leaves (Light Cake / Cherry Bounce again? / Currant Shrub). The first edition of this English cookbook, which was reprinted in 1797 and 1801. A French edition was produced in 1810. Cagle: A Matter of Taste, 625.

BELL & COCKBURN at the base of the spine. A very bright and attractive copy. A collection of nine stories, some of which have supernatural and fantastic content. The American edition was published by Mitchell Kennerley in the same year.

cat40a. London: Hugh Rees, 1918. First edition. Green cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Very light rubbing, a nice bright copy. Inscribed from Katherine Wedgwood. A brief introduction indicates that the author was killed in the Great War, and these are his stories published posthumously by his widow. Printed for private circulation. Short stories and one play. One story concerns Paraguay, several others are short fantasies. Oppolongo John is about an imp incarnated in a newborn baby.
