Beige and blue tint. See Robert Taft - Artists and Illustrators of the Old West p.21. n 1853, Heinrich Balduin Mollhausen was named an artist for the government surveys to establish a railway route to the Pacific. Austin: TSHA, 2002. First Edition. Hardcover. FINE IN FINE DJ. SIGNED with author's presentation. Foreword by Jerry Thompson, 491pp., map of engagements in frontier Texas, biographies, historic photo portraits, appendix, notes, bibliography. "The research necessary to compile this publication exposed many unique revelations about Medal of Honor history related to Texas. Early research divulged that San Antonio was, for thirty rs, the scene of the first-ever Civil War deeds for which Army Medals of Honor were awarded. These deeds in April 1861 by Cpl. John C. Hesse and Sgt. Joseph K. Wilson were eventually revoked by a Medal of Honor Review Board in 1917 as their deeds had not been performed in actual armed conflict with an enemy

Description:
Original color art for air-force unit commemorative. 13 x 15 inches hand-painted on silk/paper. Item represents either an assignment or mission performed by the owner somewhere in North Africa "Egypt" as displayed by the pyramids. We see quite a few similar items that really don't represent anything official as this item would appear to be. Probably to commemorate a mission. The organization, the 36th Airlift Squadron, at the time flew the C-141B Starlifter (aircraft shown on the flag/banner) and places the unit with the 62nd Airlift Wing at McChord AFB, Washington. They were assigned the C-141B at McChord between 1989 and 1993 to the Air Mobility Command (AMC). -Harry E. Heist II, Archivist/Historian Air Mobility Command Museum
