Description:
London: Thomas Scott. London, Thomas Scott, n.d. [1883]. First Edition. First Impression. Paperback. A near fine copy. A fantastic little book, inscribed. F. Anstey is the pseudonym of Thomas Anstey Guthrie (the pseudonym was meant to be T. Anstey, but the printers put F. by mistake and it stuck). Vice Versa, published the year before was highly successful and, as far as I can tell, the first body-swap story. A comedy, with a wonderful legacy - including Freaky Friday! Guthrie authorised an adaptation by Edward Rose, of which the present copy is one of those published. Additionally, the present copy has a letter glued in from Guthrie to Horace Pym (the present copy came from the auction of Pym's collection in 1996). A nice copy, with a little creasing and little toning. [10841, Hyraxia Books]. n.d. [1883] . Near Fine. Paperback. 1st Edition. 1883.

Description:
London: T. Fisher Unwin. London, T. Fisher Unwin, 1894. First Edition. First Impression. Paperback. A near fine copy. Quite uncommon. Dedicated to Lucifer, apparently. So there's that. Ex Tenebris Lux. Hodgson was not only a prolific writer but a suffragist and educator, though little remembered now. Collects six short pieces: The Reformer, Sarah Ann, Underground Workers, Dorothy, Making the Empire, and Among the Sand Dunes. In excellent shape with a little creasing to the spine, as printed, but also a little worn there too. One gathering a little pulled. Otherwise just fairly trivial edge wear. [11133, Hyraxia Books]. . Description:
London: Arthur Pearson. London, Arthur Pearson, 1898. Limited Edition. Presentation copy. Inscribed by the author to the publisher. Front free endpaper bears Pearson's inscription, locating it in his library. Half-title bears the author's inscription 'Cyril Arthur Pearson \ from \ George Griffith \ 1898'. Vellum-bound unlike the regular cloth issue. Condition is very good; vellum rubbed and a touch soiled though gilt remains bright, some soiling. Front hinge pulled with webbing showing. Plate, tissueguard and title page a touch foxed. Bleiler has it as Supernatural / Raising the Dead [Bleiler, p87], though Locke disagrees noting the absence of text indicating such a them. Locke has it as a straight-forward historical adventure, albeit for a mythical place - the author's first 'serious' work [Locke, p98, vol I]. [5976, Hyraxia Books]. . Very Good. Hardback. Text in French. A very good set, in contemporary paper bindings. 36 volumes as called for. A collection of 74 utopian, extraordinary and / or speculative journeys. Volumes one to 30 cover 'Imaginary Journeys' (subdivided into 'Romantic', 'Wonderful', 'Allegorical' and Amusing'), 31 and 32 covers 'Dreams and Visions', and the final volumes are 'Cabalistic'. Titles include Robinson Crusoe, The True Story of Lucien, Gulliver's Travels, Nicolas Klimius, and Apuleius' Metamorphoses. A fantastic collection. The set is pretty well preserved. I admit, I haven't collated it, but I have checked for plates and there appear to be some missing. Handwritten labels to the spines, and the wraps are all about an inch too short. Internally…
