Decorated endpapers. The author was born in Norway and later lived in Canada; her themes were rural life in Canada and Minnesota. This copy has light edgewear and rubbing with a faintly sunned spine. The cloth is not split or frayed. Bookplate of Norwegian-American collector Herman Gimmestad to the front pastedown, otherwise unmarked. Hinges solid. A clean, tight copy.

Ex- Nebraska State Historical Society copy, with the remnant of their tipped-in bookplate to the front pastedown and a withdrawn stamp to the second blank. The book has a 1/8" puncture in the cloth near the top of the front cover (not through to the endpaper) and a touch of wear at the extremites. There are no external library markings. Slight pencil markings from a bookseller to the front endpaper, otherwise fine in a good dust wrapper with a chip at the upper front fold that has been taped (clear), another piece of tape across the head of the spine on the verso and light soil. Nice photo of Bryan on the front panel of the jacket. All text clean and unmarked; jacket in mylar. Uncommon title.
