This book is a little loose at the front due to a split at the half title page where you can see mesh, bur it's not bad. The rear hinge is starting, but still tight and solid. The text block is tight, bright and clear. It is lightly bumped/rubbed, particularly at the ends of the back strip. The boards are elaborately blind stamped and covered in blue cloth, but where it has aged (sunned) at the spine cover and edges of the boards it has become a rich brown color. There are gold titles on the spine. It is illustrated with black & white line drawings. It has 264 pages plus index and 32 pages of ads at the rear. The end papers are ads for Bohn's standard library.
