Description:
UK: V B Fine Art, 2014. 'Walls with Wounds' was a landmark exhibition by Dale vN Marshall, a Coventry University Fine Art graduate. Originally a graffiti artist spray-painting the walls of Bristol under the tag 'Vermin', Marshall was sectioned in 1999 in one of Britain's oldest asylums, St Lawrence's Hospital in Cornwall. 'Walls with Wounds' draws inspiration not only from graffiti and Marshall's time at St Lawrence's, but also from his studio, a former Victorian workhouse in North Wales, its decaying walls inscribed by children over 100 years ago. Each painting is inspired by a dramatic memory and represents a healing journey through physical destruction and repair. Marshall's layered, multi-media works consist of a symbolic language of abstract expression and mark-making. The result is a series of vibrant, powerful works, raw and emotive, documenting his personal journey from rebellion to rehabilitation. Exhibited at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum…

USA: Scribners, 1912. Description:
UK: Macmillan, 1998. Signed first printing of the first novel to feature the Rev. Merrily Watkins, diocesan exorcist and psychic detective, signed by author to title page; an extremely difficult book to track down in first printing and at an affordable price; this copy is rather a poor one, and is offered as a reading copy of an important crime classic, distinguished only by the author's signature. Black cloth is worn and stained, spine rubbed and marked, and leans aslant at the base, edges dusty with shelf-wear stains, a name to the front free endpaper has been whited-out with correction fluid, small stain to half-title, text generally clean and sound (two page corners turned over, a few pages nicked to the fore-edge - probably caused in production); dust-wrapper is not price-clipped, but is creased to the edges and flaps, rubbed/chipped to the spine ends and corners with one or two small tears. The novel has been re-published by Atlantic, and this original edition will grow increasingly scarce.…
