Williams and Company. 1880. 623pp. Illustrated. hardcover. Binding cocked. Worn at edges and rubbed down the spine, which shows some sunning (gilt remains bright). Spine edges show some fraying and chipping. Small tear at the top of the spine, at the hinge. Otherwise in good condition. Interior is clean and free of stray markings, save for a small bookplate on the inside-front board, and previous owner's signature on the first free end-paper verso, and some penciled notations to the second free end-paper. The 1st free end-page has a small chip (and tear) to the top edge and a short closed tear to the bottom edge. There is also an old damp stain to the bottom edge, visible for the first 250 pages but fading at the end. The binding is tight with front hinge cracked and rear still intact. Overall, a good solid copy.
