The binding is tight and hinges intact. Some pages have been roughly cut and some are as yet uncut. Overall, a good solid copy.

Cummings, Wallace Stevens, Marianne Moore, Mark Van Doren, Robert Creeley among others.

Light wear at edges. Internally a very good copy; clean and free of stray markings. Included are two informative and humorous 4-page pamphlets on Nutting\'s life and productions. One was written at his time, possibly by Nutting in a tongue and cheek manner. The other, similar in form but less humorous, published by the Old America Company, in the 1930s. The first one is illustrated by a portrait by Bachrach. The later one is illustrated, also by portrait photograph, but of a later period. S041

A previous owner has also marked many passages throught the book but in pencil. Overall, a good solid copy. The binding is still tight and hinges intact.

Gray paper covered boards with embossed Historical Society stamp on front. Black buckram spine with gilt titling. Boards lightly shelfworn, with unbumped corners and clean spine. Some dust spotting to page edges. Interior is clean and bright and securely bound.  Almost all the pages remain uncut. The dust jacket with light overall soiling, still in one piece, but with many chips and small tears to edges.

Williams and Company. 1880. 623pp. Illustrated. hardcover. Binding cocked. Worn at edges and rubbed down the spine, which shows some sunning (gilt remains bright). Spine edges show some fraying and chipping. Small tear at the top of the spine, at the hinge. Otherwise in good condition. Interior is clean and free of stray markings, save for a small bookplate on the inside-front board, and previous owner's signature on the first free end-paper verso, and some penciled notations to the second free end-paper. The 1st free end-page has a small chip (and tear) to the top edge and a short closed tear to the bottom edge. There is also an old damp stain to the bottom edge, visible for the first 250 pages but fading at the end. The binding is tight with front hinge cracked and rear still intact. Overall, a good solid copy.
