Hundreds of towns serviced by the railways are included. Parrish & Willingham 6182 locates three copies (Huntington, Virginia State Library, Virginia Historical Society). NP: np, nd. Broadside copy of a map, 45 x 61.5 cm., on a 47 x 63 cm. sheet. A [contemporary?] copy of the Johnson Subdivision in Bailey and Parmer Counties, Texas, delineated by T.L. Crews, Special Dept. Surveyor of Castro and Deaf Smith Counties, and certified by him on May 4, 1906. Age toned, tender, splits along several folds, one break affecting a letter or two, else no loss. An extensive note by Crews in the lower right corner, originally appended in long-hand, states that this sketch map was to be known as Exhibit "A" and "shows Block No. 'X' to be composed of thirty-four and Block No. 'Z' to be composed of eighty-one separate surveys or parcels of land," included in Capitol Land Leagues [league numbers given], with corners, league lines, boundaries and acreage given. Holabird manufactured "sportsmen's clothing, shooting coats, waistcoats, trousers, knee breeches, knee gaiters, fishing jackets (New style.), storm overcoats, light tents, gun covers, and anything else in the line of sportsmen's clothing, not included in this catalogue, made to order at short notice and in the very best possible style." Romaine's "American Trade Catalogs" does not locate any material for this company. OCLC does not locate any material for this company. Still a good solid copy of a scarce sportsmen's clothing catalogue. Original illustrated purple wrappers (some insect damage at extremities). (#6084).

1941. Two manuscript account ledgers. Folio, 544pp.; 472 pp. Worn brown leather. Entries for the W.S. Anderson Company of Washington D.C., wholesale produce dealers, covering their business dealings from 1900-1941. One ledger includes the accounts held with various suppliers, people and firms for whom they acted as commission agents in the south and mid-west, including New York, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, showing the diversity of places and produce distributed through rail in this period. The other ledger is filled with names of local customers: Academy of Sacred Heart, Arlington Hotel, Bancroft Hotel, Co. Photo illustration on front cover, outline map of Texas on rear cover. Abrasions to front cover, affecting illustration (including one small hole) and overall surface. Some further wear and chipping to first leaf of text which also shows an aerial view of the city, copyrighted by Gildersleeve, and a view of a city street in downtown Waco, McLennan County. Annual rainfall, number of cloudy and clear days, and postal receipts, etc. are given for the year 1922. Promotional for the city, including numerous photos of commercial, manufacturing, and retail buildings, plus private residences and views of Cameron Park, etc. A good, somewhat tender copy. OCLC lists three copies of a 1923 edition: U. Texas-Austin; Waco-McLennan Cty. Lib.; Rosenberg Lib.

Browning and age-toning to two leaves of text. "Wagon Wheels" was a "historical review of Custer-Washita Counties," with a cast of 300, in 10 episodes and 14 scenes, directed by Maurice W. Squirrell.

Publisher letter offering, on the first page, "two very important works which I have in press, and nearly ready for publication," followed by a detailed prospectus for each title with description of their contents and a space for subscriptions on two internal pages, and on the last page, a list of other books published by Walker. Addressed in ink for mailing on the fourth page, and round stamped. Some scattered light staining. Folded for mailing, a chip and a short split at outer edge of second leaf, affecting one word.

Broadside on yellow paper, 7 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches, employing several sizes and styles of type, including a large bold display type (1 1/2 inches) in all capitals for the headline. The Doboy Steam Mill & Lumber Company was a northern owned lumber mill located on the small marsh island of Doboy, just south of Sapelo Island on the Georgia coast. The president, Clark Sayles (1797-1885), was a native of Rhode Island and a master builder through much of his early career. He built churches and dwellings in New England and spent several years in the south constructing municipal buildings and private dwellings, with his plant in Georgia. The youngest son Charles Margulis enlisted in the Army at the age of 19 in November 1942, and was sent to the Pacific in late July 1943. Harry enlisted the following March 1943 at age 25 and was overseas in Europe by November 1944. Arthur, the oldest at 31, was in the Army by October 1943, serving his time in various places in the United States. Hannah, affectionately knows to her brothers as "Hank," made it her mission to keep them all in touch, typing out informative one page letters to the brothers, apparently sending each a copy. Many of the letters are accompanied by their mailing envelops, though the stamps have been removed. Louis Margulis, their father, had emigrated to the United States from Maripole [Mariupol], Russia [now Ukraine] as a child in 1884, according to his naturalization records. Foreword: "War Orientation became a part of the Ground Training Program at the Naval Air Training Bases, Pensacola, in May, 1944. If the Aviation Cadet was to become something more than the mere pilot of a plane, it appeared almost essential to underline for him the issues of the war and to stress our objectives ... War Orientation Rooms were set up in the training squadrons and a central War Orientation Room was established on the Naval Air Station." Colt, whose bookplate is inside the front cover. Edward and Samuel P. Colt were nephews of the gunmaker, Samuel Colt.
