George Alec Effinger (January 10, 1947 April 27, 2002) was an American science fiction author, born in Cleveland, Ohio. Westwood Associates created a video game based on the book and Christopher Erhard designed and produced many of their sci-fi games, including "Circuit's Edge." In the inscription Effinger thanks him: "To Christopher Erhard, who's helping me to see these degenerates--George Alec Effinger." A rare and beautiful association copy of novel, set in a decadent Arab ghetto.

Included is a hand written note from actress Julia Arthur (1868-1950), who married a Boston millionaire Benjamin Pierce Cheney, Jr. and retired to NYC. Arthur was a famous and well-regarded actress. The note is to Sherrill: 20 East 76th St. Apart. 11-H New York Dear Mr. Sherrill: The little books "Mater Gloriosa" came in good condition and I thank you.
