Full red Morocco double ruled in gilt with beautiful, elaborate gilt decorations. Corners bumped with moderate rubbing to joints. Shelf wear to top and bottom of spine. Gilt decorations and lettering to spine. All edges gilt. Front board starting on inner hinge. Black and gold patterned endpapers. Pages lightly tanned, occasional spotting on top margin. Title-page lettered in black and red. Lavishly illustrated with 36 plates total (16 of which are vibrantly colored chromolithographs), and 291 black and white in-text illustrations.
