Viking Press. Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket. 1962. First Edition. Hardcover. Oblong brown cloth. Bumps to the spine ends. There is a vertical crease to the front free endpaper, near the hinge, otherwise only minor wear. To the dedication page, opposite the title, there is an inscription dated in 1963 along with a woodblock with hand-coloring. This is by Mitsu Yashima, Taro's wife, who often collaborated with her husband. The woodblock has offset somewht to the title page. Laid in loose is a folded personal greeting card from the Yashima family. This is dated 1958 and signed by Taro. This card has a small abrasion to the upper, center, near the fold. The dust jacket has some chips at the spine ends, otherwise only minor wear. Not price clipped. ; Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall; 33 pages; Signed by Author .

This collection includes Conrad's classic novella, Heart of Darkness. Minor corner bumps. Bumps to the spine ends. Darkening and a few water spots to the spine. The upper text block is pulling away from the spine but all is very tight. The front hinge is just starting at the lower half.
