The subject is unidentified and the photographer is uncredited, but we know it to be a portrait from the decade 1900s by the Adelaide photographer Charles Scott (1878-1928) of a boy from Oodnadatta called Jacky. His portrait was clearly popular in its time - we have seen contemporary examples of it as a printed postcard and a large-format developed photograph - and its use here indicates it still hit the spot some 75 years later.
