Description:
American Sunday-School Union, 1861. Cloth. Very good. Flyleaf is inscribed to the recipient as a gift, Christmas, 1875. This is an 1861 edition of the Christian juvenile fiction novel. Curiously, the author's name does not appear in the book, though other editions of the book are attributed to the "author of 'Twenty years of my life,' 'The Mountain daisy,' etc.," which is Harding. This forgotten treasure is quite a rarity, with very few copies available online, and none that we were able to find in such good condition.

Description:
Swannonoa: University of Science and Philosophy, 1946. 1st edition, 4th printing. Pamphlet. Very good. 12mo. 5"x4". Staple-bound blue paper wraps. 23pp. Minor staining on wraps. Interior tight and clean. This is a scarce pamphlet by American artist and philosopher Walter Russell. Russell styled himself "the modern Leonardo" (NY Herald Tribune), a Renaissance man of many disciplines, including esoteric cosmology. He and his wife Lao Russell founded the University of Science and Philosophy, which published many influential mid-century New Age texts. This self-published pamphlet, a series of brief hermetic poems and prayers, was later expanded into 1948's The Message of the Divine Iliad, the full text of Russell's direct revelations from God. Modern printings of this pamphlet can still be purchased from the Science and Philosophy website, but the original first edition pamphlets are very rarely seen.
