Corgi , 1966 . First British publication. Cover worn & scuffed, spine creased. Name written in biro on front cover, Biro mark on ffep. Front cover set a little forward. No problem with text pages.

Hanuman , 1990 . 0937815411 Miniature book in very good condition. Its jacket is in good condition only, being marked on the back panel, with a crease to the back flap. Price label on back panel.

Viking , 1976 . 0670793884 No jacket, boards are foxed, spine is almost unreadable. The book has been exposed to damp at some time, with some crinkling to the corners of the opening pages, & offset from the spine’s cloth binding on the front endpapers. Some clippings on Guston are loosely inserted. Name label on the ffep, apparently covering over some earlier ownership mark.

George G. Harrap , 1969 . A hard to obtain book in extremely poor condition. The book is from the collection of an artist, & has evidently been used for reference in the studio, with grubby paint-spattered boards. The boards are heavily worn, & bumped at the corners, heavily so in the case of the lower outer corner: there is a corresponding wobble at the lower tip of the pages. A tear extends about 3 cm into the outer edge of photo 33. The pages containing photos 34-35, 39-40, 47-48 have been removed. The page containing photos 56-57 has been removed from the book, & loosely replaced in absolutely ruined condition. The surviving 83 photographs still look impressive, despite some signs of wear & a faint yellowing of the paper at the edges.
